How the backup process works

Sign up for a free Pinsuite account and paste your Pinterest profile URL into the dashboard. Pinsuite scans your profile, identifies all boards and pins, and begins downloading each piece of content. You can track the progress in real time with a live count of completed pins. For large profiles, processing happens in the background, so you can close the browser and return later.

Once complete, your backed-up content lives in your Pinsuite library. Browse it, search it, or export it as organized ZIP files. The backup is a snapshot of your profile at that point in time. Run it periodically to capture new pins, or set it once and know your existing content is safe.

Pinterest data download vs. Pinsuite backup

Pinterest offers a data export through its privacy settings, but it delivers a JSON file with metadata and URLs, not the actual image and video files. If the original content gets deleted, those URLs become dead links and the data export becomes useless. Pinsuite downloads the actual media files, giving you a true backup that works independently of whether the source content still exists on Pinterest.
